those who attended the launch of the CD. A great evening
of entertainment, with great peformances from Joe

Community Association Limited Annual General Meeting
(AGM) will be
held in the community hall on Monday 20th June at
7.00pm. Everyone is invited
to attend and we are keen to see new members joining
the organisation. If you
feel you can make a difference in your community please
come along on the

Timebank
The launch of our new Timebank project will
be held on
Monday 20th June at the AGM. This is a chance for
the whole community
to become involved in a project which will see them
reap rewards for offering
their time and skills for the benefit of the residents
within the community.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP
Soccer
Skills Training: Reminder to parents to return
registration slips, (distributed through St. Mary’s
PS, Altinure), for the soccer workshops starting on
Thursday 16th June from 7-8.30pm at Park Soccer Club.
Training is being provided by experienced coaches
from the Maiden City Soccer Club. Strictly only open
to children currently in Primary 5, 6 & 7.
Art
Club: Mondays, 7.30 – 9.30pm –
there is a space available in this tutor led class
where members paint landscapes, portraits etc using

Step
Ahead Posts – LCDG are looking into
the possibility of establishing Step Ahead funded
employment opportunities in the village (e.g. handy
person for painting, maintenance etc. ). These posts
are only open to persons unemployed for 30 months
or more. The group would like to ascertain what the
level of interest would be and/or would welcome any

a 6 mile road race and 3 mile fun run/walk on Wednesday

MONTHLY
DEVOTIONS in honour of Our Lady will take
place in the Carmelite Retreat Centre Termonbacca
Derry on Tuesday 7th June, beginning at 7.30p.m. with
Confessions, followed by Rosary and Mass. Finishing
approx 10p.m. All welcome.
DRUG
AWARENESS TALK will be held in the Community
Hall, Foreglen on Thursday 15th June 2011 at 7pm.
This talk is open to all in the parish and surrounding
areas. Everyone, especially our young people should
be encouraged to attend. The talk will be given by
an organisation called DIVERT.
FOYLE
HOSPICE LIMAVADY MIDNIGHT WALK will take
place on Friday 10th June. The 3.5 mile sponsored
walk will start/finish at Roe Valley Leisure Centre.
This is a ladies only event. All participants will
receive a Limavady Midnight Walk t-shirt, medal and
bacon bap on completion of the walk. Registration

COLUMBA
THEN & NOW OPEN AIR PAGEANT Thurs 9th
June 4pm Guildhall Square . To mark its 30th anniversary,
the Columba Community of Prayer and Reconciliation
is working in conjunction with the Playhouse Theatre
and the University of Ulster choir on a street pageant
based on the life of their patron St Columba. Depictions
of aspects of the life of the saint, from his legendary
battle with the Loch Ness monster to his journey in
reconciliation and his missionary work in Iona , will
be performed by over 200 local school children and
young people. The pageant will conclude with a prayer
service of thanksgiving in the Guildhall. The public
are invited to come along and enjoy the pageant on
the feast day of St Columba. Guildhall Square 9th
